Gregory R. Beabout is a professor of philosophy at Saint Louis University.  He teaches and does research in ethics, Kierkegaard, personalism, and Catholic social thought. Informed by his engagement with the history of philosophy, some of Dr. Beabout's work involves applying personalism and the tradition of the virtues to business and the professions.

His work includes The Character of the Manager: From Office Executive to Wise Steward (2013), Freedom and Its Misuses: Kierkegaard on Anxiety and Despair (2009), Beyond Self-Interest: A Personalist Approach to Human Action (with Ricardo Crespo, 2002), A Celebration of the Thought of Pope John Paul II: On the Occasion of the Papal Visit to St. Louis (ed. 1998), and Applied Professional Ethics (with Daryl Wennemann, 1994).  His research has also published in Business Ethics Quarterly; University of St. Thomas Law Journal; Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics and Public Policy; Medicine, Health Care and Ethics; First Things; Acton Commentary; Catholic Social Science Review; Policy Forum; Logos; Religion and Liberty, History of Philosophy Quarterly; New Oxford Review; Journal of Markets and Morality and others.

Dr. Beabout has a BA in Theology from Loyola University (1982) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Marquette University (1988).
